I was young and armed with a plan, not just any plans, but a MASTERPLAN. Perhaps you grew up watching Nas, Tupac or Jay Z on television and thought, “I want to do that!”
I went further when I was at university, I met a friend. We both went on to create an album called “The Masterplan”. I wanted to stand out from the crowd. We are not talking about outrageous behaviour such as: taking drugs nor committing a crime. We mean, a way of life and in breaking all barriers.
Just like you the “The Masterplan’’ represented a blueprint of the modern dream; the house, the kids, the loving family & the fast cars. (Listen to the album)
WHEN THE DREAM IS KILLING US
It happens slowly at first, but then the reality becomes unavoidable and life seems to be unfair, it’s painful when you mourn a dream. It aches and feels like a real loss. It’s hard to feel excited and powerful when you are beat-down from all the battling.
As a child, I was blind to the facts, but as an adult, you feel like you are limping away from war. And here is the truth – it’s hard to dream when you are just getting by. But, beliefs always lag behind reality.
Who knows what we’ll be doing five years from now, but for now. This is a love letter for that person who feels stuck in life and feels hopeless. That person who doesn’t know if life will get better.
There is a Masterplan.
Let’s face it — life is full of surprises that are not always the kind we would wish for. We suffer when our reality does not match the expectations we are so attached to. But your disappointment might be the best thing that ever happened to you. Disappointment is indeed part of the human experience.
As someone who has been fighting my whole life, who has not given up or thrown in the towel, I have thought about it, I have seriously contemplated it on many occasions and consistently for days and weeks on end, to the point of nightly hoping I don't wake in the morning.
When the world is on your shoulders, you willing to scrape the bottom of the barrel.
What if you ran out of plans, ‘plan A’ didn’t work, ‘plan B’ wasn’t any better. Good, bad or Indifferent, love yourself. Even if you're only hanging on by a thread, keep hanging on. When uncertainty creeps up take it as a sign that you are on to something extraordinary.
So cheers to us the masterminds behind The Masterplans!
Thank you so much for visiting.
